Program Curriculum & Afterschool Program
Program Curriculum
Kingdom Kids’ curriculum is theme based. It incorporates learning through play and teacher directed activities. While playing, children develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments. Children have the opportunity to learn and interact with other children throughout the day. The children learn cooperative skills, fine motor skills, develop independence and communication skills. Our teachers provide planned teacher directed activities to help introduce new themes and concepts. These short, structured teachers directed activities will incorporate reading, science, math, arts and crafts, and music into each child’s daily learning.
Spiritual development is very important at Kingdom Kids. The children participate in group chapel. Chapel includes a time of worship songs, a Bible lesson, scripture and prayer. Children learn to live out Jesus’ word each day through chapel and classroom experiences.
Parents are invited to meet with teachers annually for conferences to discuss assessments, developmental milestones, questions, or concerns. Parents may also request conferences at any time throughout the year. At Kingdom Kids teachers and parents are partners in their child’s educational development.
Afterschool Program
Kingdom Kids currently offers after school care for children 6-12 years of age. Students get to enjoy free time, a snack and have structured time to focus on homework with help from our staff. Our team makes every effort to help students complete homework so that when they leave for the evening, they can focus on family time and other activities.
We currently only serve Brookview Elementary school for our aftercare program. We are however, currently working to include Sunny Heights and Lakeside Elementary Schools.
